Waterford United’s final pre season game that was due to have been played at the RSC has been switched to St Mel’s Park in Athlone as the ongoing work at the RSC means the stadium is unavailable.
Waterford United completed their weekend camp with another one nil victory over a determined Cobh Ramblers at University of Limerick.

Waterford United 0 Monaghan United 0Waterford United played out a scoreless draw against Monaghan United at University of Limerick today. The Blues were the better side though the bitterly cold conditions and swirling wind made life difficult for both sides.The Blues did have a number of chances in both halves but failed to convert them while Monaghan rarely threatened, though they did hit the crossbar with once effort.
Blues keeper Jimmy Fyffe will miss the opening game of the season away to St. Patrick’s Athletic as a result of the red card he picked up in the pre season friendly against the Waterford Junior League on February 8th.

Sunday’s Friendly fixture between Waterford United and University of Limerick has been changed due to the unavailability of the UL side. However, the Blues will now face Cobh Ramblers in a second meeting this season.United travelled to Crosshaven last month to take on the First Division opposition and they have agreed to take the place of UL next Sunday.
Waterford United manager Mike Kerley has added two players that have joined the club on loan.
Blues boss Mike Kerley beat the transfer deadline with the signing of 22 year old Tomas Hawkins. Wexford born Hawkins has spent some time with Newcastle as a youth and in recent years has trained with Cork City and Waterford United when Paul Power was manager.He has also spent time in America and is back home now and had signed for Ferns United. Tomas is an attacking midfielder who has also played as a striker in the past.

Both Trevor and I are happy with the way things are coming together. I know we are only three weeks away from the opening game of the season but the players are really working hard.
Waterford United boss Mike Kerley has announced three more signings for the club. He has signed 26 year old Andrezej Polewczak of Poland who played with German Third Division side FC Taubertal last season. He is a versatile midfielder who generally plays on the left side.
