Charity Game confirmed

Waterford United has confirmed that the charity game in aid of the Dunmore East Fishing Disaster Appeal will take place on Friday March 2nd at the RSC with the opposition being Cork City.There have also been a number of changes with regard to other pre season games so the full list is now confirmed.
Waterford United has announced that the club will host a charity game in aid of the Dunmore East Fishing Disaster Appeal.The club is currently in the process of lining up the game and will announce a date, venue and opposition in the coming days.

Tallow game changed

Waterford United’s pre season game against Galway United has been cancelled due to the unavailability of eircom league referees that weekend.Consequently, the official game to open the new lights at Tallow will now go ahead on Friday February 23rd at 7.30pm. The opposition will be Cork City.Waterford United’s game with Rockmount in the Munster Senior Cup will now take place on Sunday February 25th in Cork.

Waterford United boss Gareth Cronin has confirmed a number of pre-season friendlies ahead of the 2007 eircom league campaign.The Blues will return to pre-season training on Sunday January 21 and will have their first game on Friday February 2 when they play St Patrick’s Athletic at Richmond Park.They will also face Galway United at under the new floodlights in Tallow on February 9th while Shamrock Rovers will be the visitors to the RSC on February 17th for a game.The Blues will also face Rockmount in the Lucozade Sport Munster Senior Cup fourth round in a game that has yet to be fixed.
Waterford United are to once again participate in the Lucozade Sport Munster Senior Cup following an absence of many years.The club will enter the competition along with the other eircom league clubs at the fourth round stage and the draw was made recently by the Munster FA.

Waterford United manager Gareth Cronin has continued to add to his squad ahead of the forthcoming eircom league season with the signing of goalkeeper Packie Holden. Holden was a member of the Waterford United side that avoided relegation in 2005 but left the club last season.
