Waterford United have been handed a tough home draw in the quarter finals of the FAI Ford Senior Cup following this evening’s draw at Dublin Castle.The Blues will face Munster rivals Cork City in one of the glamour ties of the rounds.Former Irish International Ronnie Whelan drew the Blues out for home advantage in the fourth and final tie of the round and near neighbours Cork City were the last remaining ball in the drum.The full quarter final draw is as follows

The draw for the quarter finals of the FAI Ford Senior Cup will take place at at the Conference Hall, Dublin Castle, on Monday evening next August 27. The draw will be broadcast live on RTE’s 6.1 news.The remaining teams in the drum are Bohs, Cork City, Derry City, Limerick 37, Longford Town, St. Patrick’s Athletic, UCD as well as Waterford United.

Gareth Cronin has some injury problems ahead of Tuesday evening’s FAI Ford Senior Cup replay with Sligo Rovers at the Showgrounds. Striker Daryl Kavanagh picked up a dead leg in the one all draw on Friday evening and is doubtful for the clash while Pat Flynn is struggling with flu. However, Cronin has been boosted by the return of Dave Warren after sitting out Friday’s game through suspension.
