[b]Step Out For The Blues![/b]The first of a trio of new fundraisers for Waterford United takes the form of a sponsored walk, which will take place at the RSC track on Sunday, June 8th, from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Sponsorship cards will be available at the Athlone match, from the club office, John Ryan’s shop and any committee member, and the club are looking for volunteers to get themselves sponsored for whatever distance they can manage, from one lap of the track to the full two hours. Get out, get some fresh air and exercise, meet up with your fellow fans, and walk for Waterford United!
Waterford United take on Athlone Town in the first series of midweek fixtures this Tuesday May 20th at the RSC (KO 7:45pm), and will be looking to go one better than the reverse fixture at Lissywollen in March.
[b]Longford Town 0 – 2 Waterford United[/b] Waterford United broke their Flancare Park hoodoo with somewhat suprising ease tonight, and in the process moved to within a point of the top of the table. The ground has not been a fertile one for the Blues of late – the last time all three points were secured there was back in 2005 – but in what manager Gareth Cronin reckoned his most comfortable game to date as Waterford manager, they were full value for their win.
Waterford United’s game away to Sporting Fingal at the Morton Stadium which was originally fixed for Friday May 23rd has now been switched to Monday May 26th. The kick off remains at 7.45pm.
Having taken maximum points from their last two matches, Waterford United will travel to Flancare Park full of confidence ahead of their league encounter with Longford Town this Saturday, May 17th (KO 7:30pm).

[b]Waterford United 1 – 0 Wexford Youths[/b]In what turned out to be a somewhat tougher challenge than last week, Waterford United overcame Wexford Youths tonight with a solid performance in the first ever derby between the sides at the RSC, and, although the 1-0 scoreline might suggest otherwise, the result was never really in doubt.
Waterford United will look to continue the form shown in last weekend’s 5-0 mauling of Monaghan United as they play host to Wexford Youths this Friday at the RSC (KO 7:45pm).
