U20s to host Carlow at Ferrybank

Waterford United Under-20s take on Carlow FC in their second game of the season this Wednesday, October 1st, with kick-off at 7.45pm.The game was originally scheduled for the Waterpark RC astroturf pitch, but has today been switched to the grass pitch of Ferrybank FC.
Blues too good for Longford at Flancare

The Blues have so often been playing catch-up this season, thanks to Dundalk’s Thursday night home fixtures, but for once they had the chance to make the Lilywhites sweat a bit, and they took that chance with both hands.

Waterford United face another tough test of their title credentials when they travel to Flancare Park to take on Longford Town this Saturday (KO 7.30pm).Monday night’s highly anticipated clash with Shelbourne at Tolka didn’t disappoint, with the Blues putting in one of their best performances of the season, and ending up somewhat unlucky to be leaving Dublin 3 with just a single point, albeit having survived a late, extremely controversial, Anto Flood penalty.

Both sides came looking for all three points, but despite a hatful of chances at each end, and a hugely controversial penalty, the goals somehow remained unbreached after ninety hugely entertaining minutes.

U20 game moved to Sunday

Waterford’s first game in the U20 league, against Cobh Ramblers, has been moved from Saturday 20th to Sunday 21st at the RSC. The kick-off time remains 2pm.This is to facilitate Cobh Ramblers, whose senior team play on Saturday night.Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

A fired up Wexford side came with every intention of taking something back to Ferrycarrig, but two moments of indiscipline – one pardoned, one punished – proved the difference between the sides.
