Waterford United 2 Cobh Ramblers 2 AET(Cobh Ramblers win 8-7 on penalties)Holders Waterford United crashed out of this season’s Munster Senior Cup when they lost out to Cobh Ramblers in a penalty shootout after the sides played out a two all draw at the RSC.The Blues went in front twice but two dubious penalties restored parity within the first 45 minutes.Willie John Kiely opened the scoring inside the first five minutes when he got on the end of an excellent Kevin Waters cross. However Cobh were level on 16 minutes when new signing Danny O Leary was deemed to have fouled Kieran O Reilly and the Cobh striker stepped up to score the penalty.David Breen restored the home side’s lead four minutes before the break when he reacted quickest to a Waters corner but the lead was again cancelled out from the penalty spot when O Reilly was bundled over by Stephen Quigley and he once again dusted himself off to fire home. The second half and extra time failed to produce any further goals and in the penalty shootout, it took twenty penalties before Cobh finally advanced.
