Blues hit by suspensions

Waterford United will be without key players for their remaining games in the eircom league.Following the latest meetings of the Eircom League disciplinary commission, Patrick Flynn has been handed a one match ban for reaching eight penalty points. This suspension comes into effect from Wednesday November 1st which will rule him out of the Munster Derby against Cork. Meanwhile, Alan Reynolds has been also banned for one game for reaching 8 points and his suspension from Wednesday November 8th rules him out of the rearranged game against Derry City on November 13th.Meanwhile the club still awaits the outcome of the appeal hearing into the suspension of Ger McCarthy. His appeal against his four match ban was heard in Dublin on Wednesday evening. He has served one match automatically and should his appeal be unsuccessful he will miss the remainder of the season. Alan Cawley who was handed a three match ban as a result of the Bohemians incident will miss the game against Cork next week but should be available for the final two games of the season.
