Munster Senior Cup Quarter-Final,  Saturday Feb 28th, 2.00pm, RSC Waterford United take on Douglas Hall in the quarter-finals of the Munster Senior Cup this Saturday, determined to recapture the trophy they last held just two seasons ago.

The Blues have happy memories of Hall’s last visit to the RSC, an FAI Cup third round tie in May 2006, when they ran out comfortable 5-0 winners. Less than three years on and it’s a very different United that will take to the field, only Kenny Browne and Paul McCarthy remain from the starting line-up that night. Subsequent managers have made much changes to the side, one of which, of course, is fullback Seamus Long, himself a Douglas Hall player until the start of this year.

Saturday’s game will be a tough test of Stephen Henderson’s squad. Three wins in their three pre-season friendlies to date is a great start for the new boss, but he is well aware that Douglas Hall are a top Munster Senior League outfit, and this game represents the sternest question yet of his side’s credentials with the league season kicking off next weekend.

Henderson will have a full squad to choose from, with no suspensions and no injuries to report.
